A: CocoaVia™ is not made with any animal products. However, as CocoaVia™ is made in a location where egg ingredients are used, this product may not be suitable for vegans or some vegetarians.

Q: Are these products recommended for pregnant and lactating women?

Q: Is this product safe for children?

A: As a cocoa extract supplement, CocoaVia™ has been designed for adults to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many of the ingredients in this product are found in foods we eat every day. As with most dietary supplements they are not designed for and not tested on children. As always consult your healthcare provider when adding a new dietary supplement to your regime.

 

Q: Can I use these products as a meal replacement?

A: CocoaVia™ was developed to be included in the diet as a dietary supplement, not as a meal replacement. It was not formulated to provide enough protein or vitamins and minerals for a meal and does not provide enough calories.

 

Q: Can I take this with medication?

A: As with any dietary supplement, we strongly recommend that you notify your healthcare professional you are interested in adding CocoaVia™ to your daily regime. Q: Does milk dairy affect the absorption of flavanols?

A: Though it was originally thought that milk might affect the absorption of cocoa flavanols into the body, today we in fact know that milk does not. So continue to enjoy your favorite CocoaVia™ product in any of the dairy products you prefer.

 

Q: Breaking down flavanols in hot temperatures

A: Cocoa flavanols are susceptible to degradation, particularly at high temperatures. Thus, it is not advised to add CocoaVia™ to your beverage and then heat it, for example, in a microwave. Instead, CocoaVia™ should be added to an already hot beverage, mixed, and then consumed. The cocoa flavanols in a hot drink are stable during the typical time it takes to consume the beverage (e.g., 30 min). If the drink is allowed to cool, and then reheated, the cocoa flavanols will begin to be degraded and altered. For this reason, it is best to add CocoaVia™ to an already hot drink in order to get the best taste and the most cocoa flavanols.

 

Q: Does adding CocoaVia™ to hot or warm liquid drinks such as milk or coffee or to warm foods such as oatmeal result in any loss of cocoa flavanols?

A: Please enjoy CocoaVia™ in hot or warm liquids, as well as with your oatmeal and rest assured that there is no loss in cocoa flavanols. Cocoa flavanols in CocoaVia™ can be enjoyed hot, warm or cold at any time of the day or night, according to your taste!
