Theobromine

    A: Theobromine is a compound found naturally in cocoa, and is closely related to caffeine. Theobromine, like caffeine, is an alkaloid, though the effects of theobromine on the body are far less than that of caffeine. Theobromine is found naturally in a range of everyday chocolate and cocoa products including milk, semisweet, and dark chocolates, as well as in both alkalized and natural cocoa powder.

    Q: How much theobromine is in CocoaVia™?

    A: CocoaVia™- Dark Chocolate Flavors, contain no more than 120 milligrams of theobromine per serving, which is about half of what is found in a standard 40 grams serving of semi-sweet or dark chocolate.

Caffeine

  • Q: How much caffeine is in CocoaVia™?

    A: CocoaVia™- Dark Chocolate Flavors, contain no more than 20 milligrams of caffeine per serving, about the same in a half a cup of coffee.

Alkali

  • Q: Why do you use cocoa processed with alkali?

    A: CocoaVia™ is a daily supplement made with a unique cocoa extract, produced by Mars’ patented Cocoapro® process. It is this extract in CocoaVia™ that ensures the delivery of 250 milligrams of cocoa flavanols in each serving. This special cocoa extract is then combined with a blend of alkalized and natural cocoa powders to deliver a rich tasting experience in a supplement that can be enjoyed daily. Though alkalized cocoa powder is used in CocoaVia™, you can be sure that CocoaVia™ delivers on its guarantee of 250 milligrams of cocoa flavanols per serving.

Soy

  • Q: Does CocoaVia™ contain soy?

    A: Yes, CocoaVia™- Dark Chocolate Flavors, do contain soy. CocoaVia™ is made with soy lecithin, an ingredient that comes from soy.

  • Q: What is soy lecithin?

    A: Lecithin is an emulsifier made out of a variety of phospholipids which are naturally found in foods like soy or egg yolk.

  • Q: Why is soy lecithin used in CocoaVia™?

    A: CocoaVia™ contains cocoa powder, an ingredient which on its own does not readily mix in milk. To overcome this, CocoaVia™ uses soy lecithin to improve the dispersibility of cocoa powder in cold milk.

Maltodextrin

    A: Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate with a mild sweet taste.

Sweetener

    A: We offer two varieties of CocoaVia™: Sweetened and Unsweetened. The sweetened CocoaVia™ is sweetened with sucralose, an artificial sweetener, and contains no added sugars. CocoaVia™ Unsweetened does not contain any sweetener, allowing you to customize the sweetness level.

Potassium Citrate

    A: Potassium citrate is potassium salt of citric acid and is naturally present in certain foods, including orange juice and grapefruit juice.

Silicon Dioxide
